ISA

The rune Isa symbolizes the ice in winter, the apparent end of everything, the stillness, but in reality under and over the ice, life goes on.
Isa was entirely shot in december 2016 in Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella National Park in Norway, home of the successful reintroduction of the musk ox, a true relic of the ice age that, unfortunately, although not in direct risk of extinction, it may have a not entirely rosy future. The Arctic region is indeed warming twice as fast as the rest of the planet and the impact of rising temperatures and changing weather patterns, according to various studies, is already affecting the musk oxen populations of the north. It would be a disaster for the whole Arctic ecosystem if it were to lose a so iconic species that is stomping across the tundra for millennia.
Isa is a mix of video clips and photos animated using various techniques, such as 2.5D parallax, plotagraphs-like animations and “fake drone” shots, obtained mapping a photo in a 3D environment.
